Saving an '05 Silver B Premium

So there I was... minding my own business and watching some football on tv, when I came across this free Weber grill ad, located about 25 minutes away: I was on the road w/in 5 minutes and was able to snag it. The good: the frame is in good shape and the bolt that mounts the firebox to...

Easy, drill 2 holes on the frame where the endcap mounting holes need to be.

It is now down to $40 and closer its worth. Old school cast iron grates that could likely be cleaned up and a side burner+side burner manifold, might be worth it for someone.

    Facebook marketplace search tips?

Hey, Bill. I have an NG manifold for a Genesis Silver/Gold. I'm not interested in a trade but would be willing to sell it. Drop me a PM if interested.

Refurbing Red Weber 1000 to flip. How far should I go?

A new 3-burner grease tray for a Genesis Silver/Gold is ~$50 these days, btw. Costs could add up in a hurry. While most grills can be saved, some are best for parts so that other grills could live. On a tangental note, I've only had to replace all of the burners twice out of 20+ grills I've...

Need to learn about Weber Q Grills (used ones) so I know what model to look for

FYI, this style of collapsible stand can serve as a rolling cart while the grill is attached to it: I have a Q200 with that same stand. I took it camping with me this summer along with a 5 lb propane tank from a 1st generation Performer. It worked well for my needs.

Questions on my 2004 Genesis Silver B Restoration

Great minds think alike, I recently did the same for a rehab grill.

The stainless lid is not all that's cracked up to be, especially when the inner liner is usually rusting in pieces. However... if you have your heart set on the stainless. I have a stainless lid that already has the inner liner removed (I don't have the endcaps, just the stainless lid...

***Please do not use the "Is this available?" button. If the ad is up, assume that the item is available, and your first question should be *anything* but that. I will not respond*** It is incredibly easy to hit that button by mistake, especially from a mobile device. I don't bother responding...

"Perfect shape!" https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/hsh/d/weberblack-genesis-silver/6688178396.html Other than the wobbly legs that are missing the crossover brace supports:rolleyes: and the broken lid endcaps :rolleyes: and the cracked work table and the broken caster...

They are hard enough to find that I will occasionally scavenge them from grills that have been thrown out.

Looking for guidance on my new (to me) spirit

I find that the regulator assembly on the older (2005 or older) Webers appear to be of higher quality and they are typically made in Italy or Canada, whereas the new regulators sold today are almost always made in China. If the regulator still works well, my vote is swap out the Acme nut. If I...

Budget restoration project, 2005 Genesis Gold C, curbside find

You guys were in the ballpark, for sure. I listed it for $250, went to bed, and by the time I woke up, the eventual buyer had messaged me about plans to pick it up this afternoon.

They are all flips. I might have a buyer lined up already. I went with a spare set of Weber cast iron grates and the original Weber stainless FBs:

Best/ Easieist Way To Clean Inside Stainless Hood

With a pair of channel lock pliers, I started on a corner where the nearest spot weld was already broken and started pulling (it helps to have the endcaps off as well). Awesome job, Dave in KC.

Best/ Easieist Way To Clean Inside Stainless Hood

My curbside find 2005 Genesis Gold C's stainless lid had similar carbon buildup after I removed the inner liner. I'd be interested in your "after" pics.
