    I used to use paper but I never liked it. Now I use a single burner camp stove that screws onto a small propane tank. The chimney I use fits perfectly on top of it. I have also used the side burner on my gas grill.

    Cherry scrap wood...Ok to use?

    My Brother-in-Law has a wood working shop and offered to give me some cherry wood "scrap". Looks like 1/2 x 2 inch pieces, most being two to four inches long. My question is, would this be okay to use in my WSM or is there some additives that may be added to the wood that would make it...

    How / when do you add charcoal using Minion Method?

    If my cook needs more time than I can get out of a full load of charcoal using the minion method, how do I add more charcoal? Would I add lit charcoal, unlit charcoal or set the middle off and restart another minion fire? I have the 18.5 WSM and a pitmaster IQ110 and have never used either...

    IQ 110 First Use and Initial Thoughts

    Did you have water in the water pan? I got a 18.5 WSM and a IQ110 that I haven't tried yet. I have read that it is hard to get a high temp with water in pan though.

    Bare metal on edge of 18 1/2 Base

    Thanks for the advice, I called Weber and they were Super Nice. They want me to email a photo, and it sounds like they will replace it. Now, if I can gets my wife's Kindle Fire to connect to our Wi-Fi all of my Christmas woes will be solved. LOL........Tony

    Bare metal on edge of 18 1/2 Base

    I was assembling my new (first) 18 1/2 WSM that I received for Christmas and noticed a 1 inch or so area on the top edge of the base that looks like bare metal. ( no porcelain ). Is this a common problem? Should I contact Weber or just spray some high temp paint on it.

    Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Yes Dwain, there are several places here that sell Burgoo. Never know exactly what's in that stuff...but I love it! "Santa" is making me wait until Christmas to get my 18 1/2 so it will be awhile before I get to try it out. Everyone have a great day......T.C.
