    BBQ Santa found our house

Looks like everyone made out well this Christmas! I was lucky and blessed to receive a thermapen from my wife. I also got 2 bbq related books... smoke and spice, and bobby flay's grill it.

Got my OXO kitchen scales today

I just purchased the same scale. I've mostly used it for making pizza dough so far and it's been working really well.

    TAILGATE WEEKEND WEEK 9

Yesterday I worked my tail off in the backyard clearing brush and making a compost bin, to make use of all the leaves that have been falling around here. Hopefully the hard work will payoff come spring when we build our vegetable garden. Today I'm enjoying myself... watching the jets and lions...

Rapid Temperature Drop in Beer Can Chicken

Sounds like a problem with the probe to me. If you have another thermometer try using that and the probe at the same time to see if you get the same readings

New Yorkers, I need Pork bellies!

Rob, where on LI do you live? Do you live near the fairway market in plainview? If so give them a call and see if they have any. I've found that their butchers are pretty good at accommodating requests.

    Durability at Coastal areas?

I grew up on Long Island and my parents still live there a little less than a quarter mile from the great south bay. My Dad's Weber grills have lasted an average of 15 years and he replaces them sooner than needed (Cosmetic reasons, rather than them not working any more). He always kept his...

    Decisions... Decisions...

I guess it might be a good idea to wait and see what the 2011 models look like. But then again if I wait I might miss out on the sale on the 2010 models. I'm leaning toward just ordering the 2010. Thanks for the thoughts and comments everyone, I'll let you guys know what I end up buying and...

    Decisions... Decisions...

The only thing that I'm not crazy about on the Genesis is that the burner controls take up a lot of the work space on the right side. I don't think it's going to be a huge issue for me. I think at this point in my life I'm better off with the Genesis and the $500 as opposed to the summit...

    Decisions... Decisions...

My wife and I are right about to close on our first house, so we're finally going to have the outdoor space for a grill. I've been waiting for this moment for over 2 years. We use to live in nyc so we had no space for grilling. I've been trying to decide on which weber to get. I was first...
