America's test kitchen is one of the best cooking shows on the air. they often do tests with comparisons, & ratings of various gadgets & equipment. I just got this page in an email & thought i'd share it...

    cajun bandit smoker extension

I bought it used so the previous owner may have installed the handles. they are definitely needed. I am now up to 7 emails to Cajun bandit & have still not received a reply. as far as the deflector I already bought a heavy gauge 20" aluminum pizza pan which is working fine. for small to medium...

    cajun bandit smoker extension

handles were on mine when I bought it. buy some handles, drill your holes & install them. being heavy gauge stainless you'll need to start with a smaller bit & work your way up graduating in bit sizes. i'd also keep the bits oiled while drill. you might drill a hole for thermometer probes while...

    shrimp & scallop kabobs

i'll try. most of my cooking is by taste. if you're going to grill 1 1/2 ibs. each of shrimp & scallops you should start with 2 cups of combined juices. tangerine juice works well with this too. I use granulated garlic as it doesn't lump up & the words too much & garlic in my opinion do not...

    moist salmon

something that's been working for me is no matter how you season it put the FROZEN salmon in a small disposable pan, season it, & put it on the grill with heavy smoke 20-30 minutes, cover with foil & cook another 15-20 minutes. my recipe is (in the pan ) lemon or lime juice, lea & Perrins, &...

    weber customer service

doh! I figured out why weber sent the metal top. I had a kettle with a bad lid. a friend of mine ran over his performer with his truck but the lid & grates survived & he gave those to me. not even thinking about that when weber asked me for the serial #'s I gave them those from my friend's lid...

I have 2 performers & a 22" kettle & an older heavy duty Oklahoma joe smoker. so why am I still looking???? actually I kinda' like the stainless table & the 2 extra casters so I might buy this & sell one of the other performers.

    weber customer service

got a surprise. I opened the box to install the new table top & instead of the original gray plastic they sent me a dark granite tone metal top.

    weber customer service

I have 2 weber performer grills. on one the table was broken into 2 pieces. the other had a crack. the lid rollers were bad on both & the rubber was shot on one of the dampers. I was getting ready to build a wood top to replace the broken table but got a wild hair & contacted weber. all they...

Cleaning a caked up OTG ash catcher?

I built a small fire ( 15 briquettes ) & put the bowl on top of them. after it cooked I set it upside down on a scrap of 2x10 & smacked it with a rubber mallet. 99% of the crud came out. then I soaked it in water & hit it with a nylon pot scrubber.

Attitude on Weber Summit Charcoal Grill pricing

I do not see the justification for the pricing on this grill. I'll do the same thing I did when I bought my performers. wait for one to show up on craigslist.
