Okay got it working. Cleaned the SD card with alcohol and volia. Its the card ive always used in it and I think the springs on the pi have probably got a little lose. Oh well fixed now anyway.
OK just tried it. Ethernet light comes on and works fine with my Linux boot. Does not work with heater meter boot.
Extra info:
Used openwrt-rpi.zip 2016-02-26 16:28 7.5M from http://heatermeter.com/devel/release/bcm2708/13/.

Yes. Before and after I uploaded the software update I plugged the Ethernet cable into the router and the router light for the same number port did not illuminate. It acts as if the raspberry pi is bricked or something.
Again, when I put other Linux software on the raspberry pi it works fine...
So I got a new router and needed to change the wireless password and name on my Heatermeter v 4.0 . I tried plugging it into Ethernet with no luck, the router light showing activity in the port never turned on.

For whatever reason I cannot get Probe 2 "Coefficient C" to update what I input.
It's almost as if its too big of number. I want to put in "9.9680614e-8" but instead it will update and reappear as "9.9680604e-8" . All the other probe input fields do not have this issue. I've tried re-flashing...
Thanks Bryan, got it working by forwarding port 80 instead of 8080. Unfortunately my router does not allow me to forward an external port to a different internal port so this seems to be my only option.
Well, the port is validated open and also it is trying to connect me to the right lan IP address. However, it just hangs at transferring data. This is what the Open Wrt log says when I am connecting:

I cannot figure out how to allow internet connections to access my Link Meter page. I have forwarded a port through my router to the Link Meter LAN IP but I cannot seem to access it. Do I need to change something with the Link Meter?
I've seen someone else write something similar here :
I'm suppose to be getting my 4.0 board on Monday and I just happen to buy the Thermoworks probes as well. Hopefully I don't run into the same issues.
