Does anyone want to help reverse engineer the Meater BLE probes?

Hey Bryan, Eric Thomas and I have been working on getting a basic version working. The github contains sample code that will run on a Pi Zero W and discover all the probes and dump continuous updates to stdout. How did you envision publishing to HeaterMeter? It doesn't look like the remote API...

Does anyone want to help reverse engineer the Meater BLE probes?

Yea, it would definitely work well for HeaterMeter. I've got the probes streaming with reliable tip temperatures using 5 of my probes and a Pi, I also have the probe ID identified (for block users). The ambient is baffling me, it is almost as if they interpolate into tables based on the tip...

Does anyone want to help reverse engineer the Meater BLE probes?

Hi, If anyone is interested, I have started a project here: https://github.com/nathanfaber/meaterble I have some demo code and can reliably read the probe temperature and produced a reasonable fit. The ambient needs some work along with battery levels. The goal is to be able to read the probes...

    Meater wire free probe intergration.

Hey, How have you made out with this? Their cloud service has been driving me mad but the probes themselves are good. I'm trying to collect via the BLE service, I want to remove the block entirely and just pump the data into MQTT. I believe I have found the data in service 2 characteristics 1...

Saw this Genesis at Costco today

Did you look at that Signateur? I am baffled by the design. Underneath the grates, there is a giant stainless steel plate "flame tamer" that has no holes in it, it is solid end to end. It seems like it turns this "grill" it into a giant oven. Either I am missing something or what were they thinking?

Assassin charcoal grill or Ceramic cooker?

You may have posted this in the wrong sub-forum :). I think we are in the same boat, I'm looking at replacing my Performer & WSM with an Assassin 48. I'm pretty convinced about the grill at this point, somewhat debating between a 36" and 48". I had a Vision Kamado but didn't like how it cooked...

WSGC on display in the Boston area?

Does anyone know of somewhere that has the WSGC on display in the Boston area? I had no luck using the reseller search and calling, they were only able to order it. I'd love to poke at it in person.

    INFO ON STOKER WIRELESS SYSTEM

Ah so here is a little secret about your decision to buy the L version..since you can replace the firmware you can actually make the device do anything you want. There is a fantastic free replacement firmware called dd-wrt that replaced the stock one. It allows the device to operate as a router...

    INFO ON STOKER WIRELESS SYSTEM

John, The L in WRT54GL means Linux. It is a version of the hardware that they maintain compatibility with some third party firmwares like dd-wrt and OpenWRT. If you don't intend on replacing the firmware then this model (vs the 54G or 54GS) doesn't really have that much of an advantage but it...

    Stoker extension

Like many people I was looking for solutions to keep the expensive equipment in my house and minimize the external components at the smoker but it seems like there are mixed results along with different methods. I finally settled on a way to do it that was most flexible for me and minimizing...
