The title is probably unclear
What make the temp in my Weber summit charcoal go from 225* to 250*+ with no physical changes to the summit?
I was smoking a 4lb pork butt and after 5 hours it just took off and this has happened before
What makes this happen?
Thanks
Hi All.
Really need some help
My snap-jet sparks. Initially a Burst of flame comes out of the tube. However it doesn’t stay lit
I can hear the propane when the flame in the tube goes out
What do I need to do? I’ve gotten ash out of the tube with a q tip. No difference
All suggestions welcome...
Why does a smoking session always have a time when the temp surges up?
Nothing changed on the vents but it jumps
From 225 to 250
Is it a wood chunk catching?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Crazy question. I use a fire board thermometer in the meat and on the grill
It is often higher temp than the Weber dome thermometer
Which one is right? Which one should I use for tracking my cook temp?
Thanks
Msrk
Just a quick follow up
thanks for all the advice
UNFORTUNATELY for me, even tho it was only a 6 pound pork butt 10 hours of cooking did not get me to soft pull
as always I had to take it off so we could eat
I thought that a smaller pork butt would cook quicker than a larger one
however I was...
I hope this thread is still alive. I’ve had the Weber charcoal summit since it was released
However I’m a total newbie.
I really enjoyed this thread and the people who responded to my post today.
I’ve had issues getting it to sit at 225*
However hope springs eternal!
I love that I can do so...
I’ve had the summit since it came out. Today it was just running away from me.
I do use the diffuser plate.
I let it get too hot before closing/pushing down the upper vent
Thanks for all the advise
thanks - I have never used a water filled pan
