And here is my effort. Used nice heavy stainless steel dog food bowl from local pet store. It does have a rubber ring bonded to bottom edge, but I don't believe heat will be a problem for it. We shall see.

I used a pair of pliers, and just wiggled the little tab back and forth a couple of time and it came off extremely easy. I don't think you would have any trouble with it.
