Take a look at BBQ Galore. They have a 3 peice cast iron grill system for Weber Kettles that I believe would be better in the Performer.
I Have the Craycorts. They are well made & shipped out fast.

Thanks for your replies. I mostly just like the look of the Lodge Sportsman. But then again I have a thing for cast iron. Not a lot of today's products have the build quality of this little grill. Price is decent too.

Anyone using a cast iron Lodge Sportsman Grill? Thinking of getting one for camping / small meals at home to save on fuel & warm up time. I already on a Performer & Genesis. Any advice?
Glenn
I too have a performer & a an old genesis. I use both & feel they compliment on another. For me the gas assist on the performer is a minor improvement. When I need to replace it I will be buying a regular kettle without the gas assist.

I have been making pizza on my kettle for about 2 years. For me the best way to ensure repeated success is by using a cast iron pan instead of the flimsy, crack prone traditional stones. I use a bread maker to make my pizza dough & cook with direct heat on an old hand me down 12" round cast iron...
I think the larger 26" grill will only be "better" if you have a need to cook larger quantities of food. I have a desire for an 18" kettle as I find the 22.5 performer I currently own to be a bit large / hard on fuel for everyday cooking meals for a family of 3.
Glenn.
I just saw the newest model 22 inch weber kettle. The center portion of the grill has a removable round cast iron insert suspended by the regular wire grate. This coulds be the very best of both worlds. The center cast grill portion is small enough to be easily removed & stored indoors if rust...
Can anyone suggest a good hamburger patty maker? I have seen the odd cheap one around stores in my area but they are few & far between & don't look as if they would last long.
I'm looking to try to "blend" different meats with beef & make up some different burgers [turkey / beef?]
Thanks,
Glenn
Not a bad idea.
I'm sure someone else here with larger cooking needs than I have would be interested. I would pretty much be willing to buy it, get the missing parts together & sell it to someone for what I have into it only. Kinda a pay back to all the information I have got from this...
