Lost access to AVR after firmware update

OK I started all over, re-wrote the img and flashed the firmware included with the updated software and it is now working again. Does this mean the latest online firmware won't work on a v4.2.4 board? I kind of doubt that . . . I can at least do my smoke. david

Lost access to AVR after firmware update

I've to a Pi Model B with a V4.2.4 hardware. I updated the software and that went well, I then updated the firmware and while it says it completed successfully, the web service now says there is a communication error with the AVR. I tried a couple times and no difference. I tried downgrading...

    open lid triggering constantly

I think I fixed it. I went and wiggled the switch around and around. Must have had something in it that was pushing the button and triggering the lid. It's been working sense. Now to continue with the smoke of my 40 day dry aged brisket. david

    open lid triggering constantly

All, I've an odd problem. The open lid keeps getting triggered, like constantly. there is no fluctuation in the temperature, as it hasn't even gotten up to temp yet. It may never get there with the lid triggering and stopping the fan. I've tried different % settings, from 100% to 0%. Is...

    12v to 5v blower output

Also verify that the SSR actually works reliably at 5v. Most of the cheap Chinese ones I've gotten don't reliably work at 5V even though they are spec'd for 3.2v to 32v. I've never had an issue with Crydom brand, but they cost ~7x as much and the Chinese ones. david

    UDS Build with a Heatermeter

For my UDS I wanted to be able to use charcoal or an electric element. The electric element allows me to smoke bacon, sausage and things that need to be < 140F. I use the HM in either case. I created a single 2" hole along the bottom edge and used a threaded steel nipple. I then thread on a...

How to change the pit probe to be non probe -?

I had the second to the latest version of the software so I took a change and flashed my smoker :) It is all working now. thanks for the help. I've removed any ability for me to use my smoker in a manual manner so I'm quite dependent of the controller working. I'll have to get my backup...

How to change the pit probe to be non probe -?

Hmm doesn't work. I have my temp set at 275 and it is a zero fan and 245. I'll just use the manual controls those appear to work. I think I have the latest software version, but can't find it in the GUI to check.

How to change the pit probe to be non probe -?

My thermocouple died, this is three of three I bought at the same time. Mine, my brothers and friends. They have all died. So I would like to use probe 2 instead of probe 0. I changed it in the configuration page, set it to internal, the same as probe 2 currently configured. However, it...

    General 3D Printing Thread

Question for you guys. My printer has been working fine, but recently something changed. When I home my Z-axis it works fine, as long as the print head is not powered. As soon as I power my print head, it no longer detects my z-axis limit switch. I'm using an inductive based switch. The odd...

HM 4.3 up button not working

Any ideas on how to figure out what is wrong? I've ohmed out the button board and the buttons report correct values. In the past if there was a problem one of the button resistors was borked, but all three appear correct. What tolerance is acceptable? Maybe my top resistor is a bit out of...
