    Brisket prices in Madison/Milwaukee

Does anybody know where to find good prices for brisket in the Madison/Milwaukee area? Today I went to 3 grocery stores and one meat store that didnt even have brisket. Ended up getting a 5 pound flat at Pick n Save in Watertown for 3.99 a pound!!! And that was his last one. Desperate, I...

    A philosophical question

I impressed a friend at work with food from the WSM. Thus, he has been looking to buy a smoker...which lead him to an electric smoker from Cabelas. After listing the benifits of said smoker (easy cleanup, easy to start, consistant temp), he asked why I didnt buy an electric smoker. My first...

    Top Sirloin Tip

Just celebrated International Smoke Day by finishing my first Top Sirloin Tip. the little guy (4 pounds) was excellent! Cooked it at 325 for 2.5 hours. Internal was 140. It was quick, easy, and delicious. Along with its cheap price (3 bucks a pound), you cant go wrong with a Sirloin...

Favorite "non-typical" BBQ meat to smoke?

Curious on what "non-typical" meats people like to smoke? Something besides the standard BBQ competition fare of ribs, chicken, brisket, pork shoulder/butt. How does simple ribeyes, chicken breasts or butterfly pork chops turn out on the WSM? Probably great, just have not seen too many...

The Greatest BBQ Sayings - let's have some fun :)

My brother in law's quote after he looks at his overflowed plate of ribs, pork, sausage, potato salad and plenty of sauce: "They call this the 'Widowmaker'" I still laugh at that one.

    Brinkman Water Pan

Yes, my mistake...it is the Brinkman Charcoal Pan, not "water pan." It seems to me that many people like using the Brinkman Charcoal Pan as a water pan much more than the WSM water pan. I guess I am still wondering why doesnt Weber provide a Brinkman Charcoal Pan-sized water pan?

    Brinkman Water Pan

Hello All... I have herd/read many people comment about the small size of the WSM water pan and how great the Brinkman one works. Does Weber know this? Any chance that they change the size of the stock pan? Why wouldn't they? Maybe Moderator Chris has a contact a Weber who he has talked to...

    Odd question...

I have an odd question about how BBQ joints operate…probably an obvious answer, but I cannot figure it out. Keep in mind, these are all hypothetical here: Lets just say you own a small, local BBQ joint. The normal operating hours are, say, 11 AM to 8 PM. Most of your meats take...
