    Who's Smokin' this weekend?

I must admit I don't have anything on the WSM this weekend, but I do have a butt on the new UDS I just built. All seems to be going as planned, the UDS holds temps like the WSM and you get the smell of the fat hitting the coals as it cooks. It's at 170 deg right now and the UDS is steady at 250 deg.

    Criagslist find

I was checking Criagslist yesterday and came across a brand new COPPER Smokey Joe Gold for $30. Of course I didn't need another grill, but being the true Weberholic that I am, I drove right over and scoffed that baby right up. Has anyone ever seen a copper SJG? I will post a pic later today once...

    New WSM..first time..pork loin questions

That's not necessarily a bad thing, I will most always smoke way too much food for one meal. The leftovers get sealed in foodsaver bags and end up in the freezer. Nothing like having a freezer full of smoked goodies for when you just gotta have a snack! GO PATS!!

    New WSM..first time..pork loin questions

Jay, Welcome to the board. My favorite woods to use for pork are apple and maple, but any fruit wood or hardwood would work. I usually keep away from the store bought mesquite and hickory as those can be too strong for my liking. If you're going to fire up the WSM, why not throw on some leg...

What Do You Cook Indoors When Weather Is Too Bad To BBQ?

Ray, I've added my location to my profile. The snow has changed to sleet and it's currently about 20 deg. Here's some pics of what it looks like out there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/41563561@N00/sets/72157603474475001/ SMOKE ON! Andy

What Do You Cook Indoors When Weather Is Too Bad To BBQ?

Well, I woke up to 6" on the ground and it's snowing so hard I can barely see across the road but I am still planning on smoking up a couple racks of spares. I'll just have to shovel my way to the WSM. It's under a shelter that I built this fall off the back of my deck in anticipation of days...

    ARRRGH!! Bad wood...

You might want to try what I've done with some green apple and black cherry wood I've recently acquired. After chunking it up I put it in some burlap bags and hung them from a tree in the back yard. This keeps it off the ground and it gets plenty of air for drying.

The grill is spoken for, pending pick up this week.

    Need a 22.5" Silver?

Because of my good fortune recently acquiring a 22.5 Gold on Craigslist, I have gently used 22.5" Silver that I am offering to anyone in the New Hampshire area FOR FREE! I don't need it anymore and would rather give it to someone I know will use it. I will wait a week to see if someone on here...

    Life is good!

When I get a chance I'm going to cut it into 6" pieces then split it up with my axe. I've used apple wood green before with good results but the majority of the wood will be seasoned by the time I get to use all of it, I'm still working off some apple wood from some limbs I cut a while ago from...

    Life is good!

I was doing some yard work yesterday and I heard my neighbor start up his chainsaw. I looked over and saw that he was cutting down the apple tree in his front yard. Of course I walked over and asked why he was cutting the tree. He said he was sick and tired of picking up apples so he could mow...

    How many bags of Rancher?

I've got 22 bags in the shed right now, I just might go for more if I can make more room.

home depot hardwood charcoal briquettes, $3 for 20lbs

Well, I went back to HD today to get a few more bags and wouldn't you know after I left HD, I noticed they rung up at $2.99! Needless to say I went back with yesterday's receipt and they honored the $2.99 price. Looks like I need to make more room in the shed!

home depot hardwood charcoal briquettes, $3 for 20lbs

I was at my local HD last night and the price tag on the Rancher was $3.74, so I bought the 10 bags they had on the floor. When I was cashing out I asked if they had any more left and I was told they had 120+ bags left. I guess I'll be going back for more!
