After thinking it over i went ahead and purchased the entire blackstone griddle 28 pro series setup. I'm 100% sure it would have worked because others have done it just wouldn't have been ideal for me. I don't want to shower every time I cook because I smell like smoke lol.
The split shelf is...
Shipment came in today. This model is bigger than the measurements I found online. It measures in at 29x18 1/2. Door closes fine but I'm sure it's close lol. Going to season it tomorrow and cook something.
After watching trendkill bbq I went ahead and ordered a blackstone 28 replacement griddle. Been wanting to try one since I got the ex6. The measurements on it are 28x16.5 so it'll fit pretty good.
You'll be in good hands with B&B. I've been using their post oak with lumberjack char hickory and no issues. Have 2 40lb bags of their competition blend I'm waiting to use.
I just did it like I do brisket or chuck roast. Trimmed the fat cap, rubbed it with chupacabra brisket magic, smoked at 200 for about 3hrs then cranked the temp to 250 until it had good bark then wrapped until probe tender and rested. Definitely give it a shot.
Did some salt and pepper only st Louis ribs and smoked a tri tip like a brisket. Both turned out amazing but I was more surprised at how tender the tri tip was. Everyone who's posted about cooking it this way loved it but still you never know until you try it yourself
Curious how much grease lukes manifold mod will keep out of the manifold. The 1 grease fire I had with my 560 was from grease pooling inside the manifold. From what I've seen on the Facebook groups seems to do pretty good.
Sounds like they finally got the app straightened out. I could never get my 560 to connect to wifi and the app would always disconnect after not using it for a while (only a problem for Android users I think).
You know what your doing here is making me want to impulse buy the 1050 lol. So far...
Another alternative is using the fireboard controller with drive cable or the fireboard 2. I already had one for my WSM just needed the cable from the bbq hq to make it work with the masterbuilt.
