I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT !!!!!!!!!!
This week when I laid out all those baby backs and they all FIT on the rack,flat, without any kinky stuff; then when I laid out a LARGE BRISKET and it all FIT in the middle without hanging over the edges.....
suddenly it was all so clear LOL
BIGGER IS BETTER
screw a few extra lumps of charcoal LOL

yeah my 18 is pretty much retired. it only comes out for really big cooks.
 
Totally agree. I think I set a new record this weekend, 20+ hour cook on the 22.5 with one bag of charcoal and no additions.
Could have been longer but I finally shut the valves since I was finished.
