I'm starting to get excited about the 22" WSM. One thing that I haven't seen discussed yet is the temperature difference between the upper and lower racks. Has anybody taken the time to measure that in the new 22?
I haven't done that yet but last Saturday I did a pork butt on my new 22.5 and I did test the Weber thermometer (right on at boiling and ice water temp) and I tested the lid temp reading versus the upper cooking rack with a remote wire probe. The lid temp thermo is about 15 degrees hotter than the center of the cooking grate.
Next cook I'll use both upper and lower cooking gratge and measure both.
