Too much cayenne

My wife is making sloppy joes for our monthly dinner for the homeless. She accidently added to much cayenne pepper to the meat. Any suggestions on how to counteract this so it will not be too spicy for the poor homeless people.

Other than making a bigger batch that includes everything but more cayenne? Sweet offsets hot, maybe add some sugar, or something sweet like tomato sauce.

Thanks, that was my initial response to her but I thought I would throw it out there to see if there were any additional ideas.

I agree with Doug. Since the sauce is the least expensive component of the dish, you could also try a quick rinsing of the meat with water and then making a new batch of sauce. Ground beef holds up pretty well under water for a short period of time.
