View Full Version : To sugar or not to sugar butt?

Hello,
I was wondering how everyone feels about adding sugar to butt rub. Typically my rib rub has brown sugar but for some reason I never added it to butt rub.

What if any effect does it have on the bark? I would love to hear some opinions on this

Joe, I use it all the time in my butt rubs. Not as much in the brisket rub.

I like turbinado sugar in my butt rubs. It has a higher burning point compared to brown sugar.
