    FOOD BORN ILLNESS

Could it have been the sauce? Vinegar, mainly apple cider, is used as a natural laxative. Some people can handle it, while others (like myself) cannot. I never understood why I didn't have the "intestinal fortitude" to handle certain BBQ at certain restaurants. After doing some research, I...

Will I die if I smoke a meatloaf below 300?

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but I'm still living. Lesson learned...I will never leave my WSM until the temp. settles. Better to be safe than sorry. I haven't done so yet (since it was the second time I used the therm.) but I need to check it for accuracy because as I stated earlier, the...

Will I die if I smoke a meatloaf below 300?

Thanks for the advice...or did you give that to get the stash? Anyway, after looking at all the variables, especially the internal temp. and the time it took to get there, I will serve it.

Will I die if I smoke a meatloaf below 300?

I have been smoking meatloves lately and never had a problem with the temp. falling. I cranked the WSM between 375 and 400 (as always) to make up for the temp. drop when I add the loaves. I did this as usual and left. After messing around the house for close to an hour, the temp. read just below...

    Old Kingsford at Home Depot

A few months ago, they had pallets of the twin packs for $5 in Biloxi, MS. I believe they over ordered it after Katrina (along with pallets of potted meat and other canned foods)and was trying to dump it. I bought several twin packs but soon noticed water stains on a bunch of them. Some of it...

Cleaning up a drowned Silver Genesis B.

I have a SG B that went under 6 feet of water, mud, etc. I finally took it to the car wash and pressure washed it. Should I replace any parts or just hook up a tank and let it burn away any nasty stuff that might be hidden in the burners?

How Long Should Internal Temperature Read?

A question that was brought up today that I never really thought about: When you reach your internal target temp., how long should the temp. stay on the read out? For example, your target is 160 and you insert the probe and it displays 158,159,160,159,160, etc. I guess what I'm asking is that...
