Replacement legs for Smokey Joe Gold?

The legs on my SJG have been bent for a while. They are so cheap, I would replace the whole grill but this particular grill has sentimental value (it was a gift from my sister) so I want to repair it if I can. Anybody know the cheapest place to replace the legs on a Smokey Joe Gold? I'll call...

    Higher temps on my mini-WSM

So my WSM has been great for low and slow by not good for higher heat cooks. The highest I could ever get it if I was lucky and the stars aligned was 325 and it usually topped out around 300. Today I was fooling around with it, and figured out that I can get a lot more heat out of it if I ever...

    q100 too hot?

So this weekend I used my q100 to sear a tri tip after I smoked it. I recently received a laser thermometer and so I used it to test the grate temps. Even though I preheated on low, the grate was still over 500 degrees. It seared the tri tip in like a minute but I seriously think if I had gone...

    Cooking indirect on a Q100

Hey guys, I was just wondering if this is possible. I've seen the Aussies have something called a "roasting trivet" that they use with foil as a diffuser, but haven't seen it here. I'm wondering if anybody here has come up with something else that will work. Thanks!

    PartyQ

Wife told me to cross the PartyQ off my list of things to buy myself cause she ordered me one for Christmas. Looking forward to it. I'll give you my reviews once I get a chance to use it...which will probably on the afternoon of the 25th.

Pork tenderloin on the go anywhere

This is for you, George. By hogsfan at 2011-11-17 By hogsfan at 2011-11-17 Sorry there are not any finished pictures. I actually figured out that my grill base is warped during this cook because I could not get the cooking grate back in it's place. So instead of taking pics, I called...

    Question about using GA grill

I have a new Charcoal go anywhere grill and I plan to use it tonight (ribeyes). I was just noticing that the charcoal is REALLY close to the meat and was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to use this grill versus a regular smokey joe or other kettle? Thanks in advance.

11.5 hour brisket cook on the mini on one load of charcoal

(edited from original post) Granted this is a rather small brisket and probably isn't using up too much energy from the charcoal, but I'm still amazed that homemade thing has been going for so long @ around 235-240 on one load of charcoal. I kicked this off a little before 7:30 this morning...

Issue with my Craycort Cast Iron grate for 26.75 inch kettle

Several weeks ago, I ordered a Craycort Grate for my 27 inch kettle. I was very excited until they arrived and noticed the grate inserts don’t fit and one of the grate inserts was broken from transport. When inserted, the grates were slightly too big for the hole and they stuck up in the middle...

I bought my 26.75 inch kettle a friend (cast iron grate.)

We purchased (and by "we purchased" I mean "I purchased while my wife rolled her eyes at me as I tried to explain to her why we 'need' this") a Craycort CI grate tonight. I can't wait! UPS trucks are so dang slow. It's been 22 minutes since I ordered it and it still isn't here?!?!

Black smoke (tons of it) from Genesis

Yesterday I was cooking for some friends. I on about my 4th and final round of burgers/chicken breast, when all of the sudden massive amounts of black smoke started pouring out of the Genesis. I closed the lid, turned in off, and eventually the smoke went away and the temperature died down but...

    My new grates are great!

Before: After: These things are really thick. The package they came in weighed 19 pounds. One of the things I was worried about was getting a good sear. I was afraid I would regret not getting cast iron. I'm no longer concerned. Just some veggies: I'm no photographer...

Heavy duty rod style replacement grates.

I just bought some heavy duty rod style stainless steel grates. I've gone back and forth between the stainless and the cast iron. In the end, I decided it will be nice variety over the CI griddle that has permanently found a home on the left side of my grill. Plus, anything is going to be an...

    2010 One Touch Platinum-feedback?

Does anyone have the new One Touch platinum? I'm thinking about getting one. I went to look at it in person and was a little bit disappointed when I saw how the handle attaches (not welded). Also, the finish on the display at the store was not smooth. It looked a little like someone had tried...
