WSM "laptop" mod...

Hi folks,

My Guru eyelets finally arrived...so while I was waiting I fashioned a shelf for the digital thermometer out of a coathanger and an electrical outlet cover (steel). My wife calls it a little "laptop" for my WSM (hence the nickname) LOL! Anyhoo...just thought I'd share a couple of pics. Happy Smokin'!

That's freakin' genius!
So many of those bases are magnetized, it's pure genius!

That is a "Mod" that I will definitely do, even now. It'll be ready and operational, long before my WSM arrives!
(Still using the training smoker...)

How does the thermocouple wire get thru the WSM body? Drill a hole?

Helo Eric,

I haven't given it much thought...it was one of those spur-of-the-moment things. I haven't used it that much. You have to move it when you remove the lid or it will fall off. I have been thinking of some sort of magnetic base for it so as to attach it to the body instead of hanging it off the lid.
