With this winter being pretty brutal and having 4 good, hard, years on the WSM. I thought I would tear down they O'L girl and give her a new look. Started with a complete disassemble and cleaning. Had a few rattle cans of duplicolor Ceramic header paint in the cabinet and went O.C.D. on her. I wont bore you chaps with the steps by step. Enjoy

Painted the legs and Heat shield

Hit the handles up then I decided I didn't want any stainless on this thing. I work with stainless all day and can't stand the stuff.

So operation "anti stainless" Lead to my O.C.D clashing with my A.D.D Which lead to this..

Since i was down for a few days, I went ahead and got the CB door and SC compression latch. Who ever discovered that mod, I owe you a beer. The door was a little off up top on the corners. After some tweaking and mocking it up with the latch. That thing is super air tight. But again, I don't like stainless.

The door isn't done yet. This header paint is bullet proof, but you do need a few good days for it to harden up

Once assembly started I decided to change out all the hardware with grade 8 hexs bolts

I had the piano dolly wheels on it and decided to try the single mount high density wheels. These things crush the piano wheels. It rolls soooo much easier. Painted to match of course

Thanks for looking. I will update once the door is done...I hope it works

Unique. Since I also painted a logo on my CB door, I'm really looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. :D

Well, I got her done. Had One little issue when I was removing the stencil. It pulled three coats of the header paint and one solid coat of primer in one little section. Easy fix thou. I did scuff the door a little bit with a #3 pot scrubber. I didn't go to aggressive cause I didn't want the scuffs to show. I guess I need to let the paint setup for the full 7 days or scuff a little harder. Any tips Chad for the next time?
