TVWBB Honor Circle
I am thinning my Weber herd a bit, and the first one to go is my original WSM 18.5". I bought this in 2003, used it to compete a bit, and put it through its paces in the backyard for many years. When I acquired my ceramic grill, this one took a back seat, but move again to first position when I ditched the ceramic in favor of my Weber "roots". Then came the WSM22, and, again, this little guy got a bit ignored. I haven't used it in almost two years, so I decided it was time to refresh it a bit, and let it go.
I say "refresh" since I didn't do a full break down on it. I washed it down, replaced the lower dampers, put a new thermometer in (I added a thermo way back when), and bought new upper and lower grates. The charcoal grate is rusted, but since that's likely to happen anyway, I didn't bother to replace the charcoal grate. The grill supports on the sides of the cooking chamber are showing rust as well, but a few good pork butt cooks, and you'd never know. Anyway, if I replaced those and the charcoal grate, I'd probably ask $200 for it anyway.
I'm going to list this on craigslist, but figured I'd throw it on here for the TVWBB crew first in case anyone local to me is looking. I live in Redwood City, and do not want to ship it.
....oh, and I found the original cover, too, after I took these pictures. If this were a '66 Corvette, I'd say it was a driver.
