Wow - New Spirit 700 - Glowing flavorizer bars

Those grills just seem way too small to me. I looked at them in person and that 3 burner is not really much if any bigger than the older 2 burner version. So of course you pack 31k BTU into that small space it's gonna be hot. Kinda like Jon's "Judge"

I discovered on my own the other day in the store that these Spirits have the same Snap Jet ignition as the last generation Summits.

I was kind of shocked.

The Snap Jet ignition is actually kind of a pain in the ***. If you don’t prime enough of the gas “just right” before getting the spark, the ignition fails. I actually had someone show up to recently to buy a Summit I have for sale and they walked away on it because they hated the Snap Jet ignition. They were like “Why can’t I just simply push a button to ignite it?” And…I don’t really disagree with them.

My theory is that Weber ended up so heavily overstocked on those Snap Jet valves from likely “poor” Summit sales over the past 15 years that they decided to gobble up inventory by slapping them onto all these “guaranteed sale” Spirits.

I have the Snap type ignition on my Napoleon and love it. Always starts right up. I think that it is pretty high end for the Spirit line.

I believe you are absolutely correct, Larry and the 4-burner is the same size as the prior 3-burner - and for that matter an x000 and Silver/Gold Genesis.

p.s. I have been thinking about pulling out The Judge from its mothballed location in the back of my lawnmower barn😎!

Yeah I looked at them in person and honestly the first thing that struck me was how small they were. Maybe that is the new direction?
