wireless thermometer

Question,I've got a chance to get a wireless thermometer through work for free(the same way I got my smoker). It's an Oregon Scientific talking wireless bbq thermometer. I googled it and it's available on Amazon,so I checked out the reviews. It was half and half,people either thinking it was the greatest thing since sliced bread,or the biggest hunk of junk. Anybody out there have one or know anything about this particular brand? I'd appreciate any info or opinions. Thanks.

I have an Oregon Scientific and so far it has worked perfectly for me. I set it so it doesn't talk because it annoys the heck out of me but otherwise I like it.

As my dad would say "the price is right". Worst case scenario is that it sucks and you are out...well nothing.

I will say though I bought a wireless probe thermo on special that was made by Oregon scientific and it quit after 2 uses. Maybe that was why it was on special.

However, I use a remote thermo/hygrometer set up in my humidor and its awesome. Made by Oregon Scientific.
