Willingham's BBQ book

I don't know why I feel compelled to buy books on BBQ, when the best info available is right here on this site. But I usually pic up a book or two when I see something interesting on the topic of BBQ.

I'm always looking for tips on making better BBQ, and one thing I found interesting in Willingham's book, was the recommendation to turn your ribs every 15 minutes while cooking. I have never heard of turning your ribs that much. I normally don't even turn my ribs at all. It seems like you would be dragging out your cook times forever, lifting the lid that often.

What do you guys/girls think? I say if you're looking, you're not cooking.

Agreed. I see no benefit at all if cooking indirect and, like you, don't turn my ribs at all.

Turning is necesary when cooking ribs direct, which I haven't done in some time but used to do fairly often. But, then, more frequent turning is usually required.
