Will Genesis 3000 end caps fit on a Silver B/C shroud?

I'm looking for a replacement shroud/lid for my 3000. If my 3000 end caps will fit on a Silver B/C it widens my search pool exponentially. Does anyone have the answer, or pieces on hand to check the fit? Thank you in advance.
 
the enamel center section on Silver B/C can be used with Genesis x000 end caps, but some enamel center sections will not work with the x000 end caps.

Below are a couple that will not work.

This one is drilled different and the end caps are much different. The entire lid can swap over to your 3000, but you cannot use the center SS section with your x000 end caps.

Something else that may or may not be of interest in this topic is that the very first Genesis came out in 1985. I have one of them a Genesis 2 from 1985 and the handle goes all the way through the end cap and is cut off flush. By 1988 the handle still went all the way through but the edges were beveled. And then by sometime around 1990 they started boxing in the ends like yours and remained that way throughout the second generation.

Good observation @Josh Dekubber I would bet they were having issues with the casting process and that’s what caused the change.

Most all the Square top x000 lids will take the silver b handles, and vice versa.

I differentiate by “square top” (x000 style) vs. round top (latter) silver b/c - I think most 2005 and up are rounded. I’ve had a few square tops on 2004s, not yet an 05+ date code.

This became important for me to know when I started offering handles for sale.
