Brian, I am not 100% sure but I believe 50 where made of the original bouy kettle. The one I posted above is a original and not a reproduction like you see in the Weber restaurants. As far as how many are out there and finding an original are probably slim to none! If you did find one though I believe it would be the holy grail of Kettles.

Thanks Todd, thats a great pic of an original grill.
It has a unique style that you can see today.
It would be cool if Weber sold the reproduction grills,I know I would buy one..

And Brian, considering the amount of time that has passed, I don;t think any of uis will ever seen the "Holy Grail" anytime soon.
If someone has one, they either have it on a pedestal, or its burined int he basement and think its just more junk..But I wish you luck in your search!

Very possible, I did. It was ten bucks and I offered five. I was turned down and walked away.

It was missing the lid, but the rest was there. I still lose sleep over it.

Its almost something like that Matt. At least I have pics though! Its one of the rarest grills Ive ever had...and I didnt realize it at the time I donated/traded it.
