I am going to make pulled pork this weekend, and Ive only done it once before with a butt. I had my cousin by a 2 pack from restaurant depot, but when he gave them to me, i noticed they were picnics and not butts. Ive read on here that for the most part, cooking is the same, but the taste/texture may be different? How different are we talking? Anything i should know that could yield better results? Ive never cooked with picnics before, and i got a bunch of guys from Brooklyn coming over that have been wanting to try my BBQ for a while, and I dont want to dissapoint

Cooking is the same. If skin-on you might want to remove the skin first. Texture is a bit different but not a big deal.

I've never noticed a texture difference between a picnic and a butt. I usually use picnics w/bone in because they are cheaper.
