White vs Apple cider vinegar in Roadside recipe

I know, I am probably the only person left on earth who hasn't made the roadside chicken recipe. But I am gonna change that tommorrow. One question. I have apple cider vinegar on hand, but no white vinegar. Any body ever deviated from the original recipe and found Appler cider to be just as good?

I loathe distilled white vinegar - good for cleaning - but cooking? Not to me. If you have white wine or white balsamic vinegar use either. If not, use apple. Imo, any of the three are much better.
 
I always use apple cider vinegar in roadside, and half as much as called for in the recipe.

I also add lots of lemon juice.

There's no accounting for taste, and in most applications you can sub acids for acids (or oils for oils or spices for spices etc) with wild abandon with no ill effects to the overall dish besides a different flavor.
