White Spotting on Genesis Grill Lid?

Has anyone else seen this, can it be removed? I thought it was pollen till i cleaned it and it didn't come off.

That is the dreaded lid fade. It's in the porcelain. Nothing you can do

Larry is right. It is called the "Weber Fade". It pretty much only affects the black lids for some reason. Check your warranty. If you are still covered, there is a good chance Weber will send you a new one.

Can you post a photo of the whole lid showing that fade?

I did send in a request to them, bought in 2014 so still should be under warranty..

If you had the space available. I would store the old lid for “off season” grill use.
