Which gas Weber to get

Amazon just delivered the new propane hose and regulator and an acorn nut for good measure. Unfortunately I work until 11pm. Here are some quick and dirty photos though right after it was unloaded and before the rain started again. Question 1. what’s the other small rack for and where does it go? My guess is a condiment rack and somehow under the grill. Question 2? Is it best to touch up the paint on the hood frame and outside of the cook box or leave as is? Thanks.

A full on resto is not in the cards… the driving force of grabbing a gasser was a lack of time and energy to fire up any of the charcoal grills.

We started a new Easter tradition this morning. Burgers for breakfast. My wife is onboard with this tradition. When I mentioned getting a new grill each year as part of the tradition she was less than amused.

You could do a light resto in a couple of hours.

Pull the lid. Scuff the end caps with a green scotch bright pad. Mask the enamel section with shipping paper and spray the outside of the end caps with rustoleum high heat ultra semigloss. A couple of light coats over the bare spots first then a finish coat. That's less than an hour.

If there is rust on the frame a little touch up with rust reformer would be good to slow the decay.

this is probably what I will do. Now that we got it dirty.. I'll be giving it a nice bath. Is the high heat ultra semigloss appropriate for the outside of the cooking box?

Krylon high heat max works very well also. Which ever is easier for you to get.

Yes either of these options would be great for the lid end caps on the outside and the cook box on the outside

Two questions here.

Are you saying to paint the end caps without disassembling them off the lid? I never thought about doing it this way but it would make painting the inside edge a lot easier.

I never considered the solution of multiple light coats over the bare spots first…that’s a great idea. How long would you wait in between each of those bare spot light coats?
