When was the last year redhead made??

Just curious on when was the last production year for the red hood. I remember reading somewhere here that it was last made in 1997. However, on a genesis 2000 redhead i just pick up has a serial # beginning with EZ that indicated it was made in 1998. I assume 1997 was last year made but 1998 grill made was using up all red hoods that's left in warehouse? no?:eek:
 
A lot of folks report having 1998 redheads. There are a few guys that say they have 1999 redheads. No 2000 redheads that I know of. Definitely gone by 2002, as the product catalog that year shows the colors as black, blue, and green.
