When to put the beans on?

Smoking a butt tonight for tomorrow. I also want to throw some beans on the bottom rack, under the butt. When do you guys put your beans on? I can't imagine the whole cook but how much goodness drips off the butt in the first or last hour(s)? Don't want to do it in the middle of the night...What do you guys do?

This is one of my family and friends favorite meals! I cook with the foiled pan and clay at 225-250. I put the beans under 2-3 hrs before time to eat.

We also use left over pp in the beans!
