What is the best way to cook boneless pork butt?

The grocery store I stopped at today didn't have many options as far as fresh meat, so I settled for two boneless pork butts, both under 4lbs., and have been injected with a "patented solution."
I've never done pork butt before, and I couldn't seem to find any recipes in the cooking topics section for small boneless pork butts. Any suggestions?

I do them the same as full-size bone-in butts. It just doesn't take as long.

Here's the Cooking Topic - Pork Butt - The Renowned Mr. Brown - and there are notes in there for boneless butts.

It's really hard to go wrong with pork butt. Most don't let it go long enough. It might take 2hrs a pound, might take 3hrs, just don't rush it.

Pat, You can do them however you want, however since it is injected it will probably taste a little hammy. Is it that you could not find any meat with "butt" in the name, or was the selection just that bad? By me, none of the main supermarkets carry butts by that name, they are called "shoulder blade roasts". Look for butts by a different name.
Good luck with the smoke.

Problem with Hy-Vee is that their Hormel products are very enhanced, more so than Tyson products at Wal-mart. In this case I would recommend Fairway or Wal-mart over Hy-Vee.

Eric, where are you at? Live in Storm Lake myself.

Sometimes you just have to use what you can get. A trick I use from time to time is to take a boneless butt and cut it more so that it looks like a brisket. You get more bark, cook times are cut way down too.

They are Hormel butts from Hy Vee, and being enhanced is one of the reasons I didn't want to get them. But I had to cook something today. Thanks for the replies.

I did one boneless butt, but it turned out terrible. Totally raw.

I don't know what I did wrong. I made sure the bone was out easily...

I myself don't use the butts from Hy-Vee and have actually never even looked to know how enhanced they are. I just knew they had them and there is a Hy-Vee everywhere around this state. There is a few good lockers around my area with pretty reasonable prices.

I still get much of my meat from a locker back in Kansas but will use Fairway around here, nice new store with a new meat counter.
