Thanks for all of the expertise, everyone.
I have all the parts on hand, but won't be able to get to the repairs for several weeks. But my impatience got the best of me, and I went ahead and did a couple of meals on the grill. I bent the inoperable ash sweeps out of the way and roasted a chicken and some potatoes. Also did a direct cook of some pork tenderloins. And wow, does this grill ever work well! Seems to cook hotter, and certainly lasts longer, than my newer grill. So yep, I'm definitely keeping it. I sold the 2010 OTG to a friend, in fact. ;-)
