If I drill out the rivets on the old two rivet style wood handles what are you guys using to replace the rivets so it has a similar vintage look? I have found a few things but not thrilled with any of them?

Brian

I use aluminum rivets. They have a hole in the middle, but I think they look fine. I also have seen real steel rivets in the hardware store, but they would be hard to remove if I ever wanted to.

4 or 5mm round machine head stainless screws cut to size with ss nuts
AND, no need to drill out the ALUMINUM rivets...
G E N T L Y pry them out using a flat screw driver. Works perfectly.

Good Luck!

So it's not a big deal if they are not a dead ringer for the old flat head rivets? I found something that would look right but I would have to turn them down on a lathe and it seems like a lot of work.
