Well guys, I was out to dinner with a buddy last night, and while I was gone we had 3 inches of rain in one hour.

The bad news is I had some seepage into my garage, which hit some of the bags of charcoal I had on the floor.

I discovered it this morning, before I went to work, so I had my kids put the bags wet side up to dry off.

Will it be ok or is it garbage?

Did the charcoal inside get wet?

I had charcoal get wet after the water soaked through the bag and tried to dry it out for weeks. Much of it crumbled and the rest never seemed to burned right.

? Charcoal ?

Are you referring to briquettes like Kingsford, etc made from sawdust or lump hardwood charcoal?

Kingsford style - might as well toss, perhaps only the ones that got wet if you want to pick through.

But if you meant hardwood lump, it will still be fine, just dry it out.

If it was Briquettes, I would chuck it. I tried lighting up a friends Kettle the other night and I was having some issues, I come to find out the briquettes has been wet and dried. I went to back to my house grabbed a bag and and has us cooking nice and hot in 30 minutes.
