Today, I was able to go to a small gathering of BBQ junkies in the Chicago area. Had a great time, except for the fact I broke my note 2 phone for the 3rd time in 4 months, lol that's was low point of the day. I also have a pretty good way to bring along your heatermeter and still have wifi, although, its only WiFi and no internet, its still nice.

I bought a Tecknet router and Its small and has pretty good range. I got the Heatermeter set up before I left and once I made it to the bash I just had to plug in the teknet into a power supply and it was ready to go.

I was not sure if I was going to have power so I also brought a cigarette light power converter that I used on airplanes for my computer to plug into my car and then used extension cord and I could power everything up and demo the Heatermeter.

Those that saw the Heatermeter were amazed at all the functions it had and what it could do for the price compared to the others. Afterwards even those that had a guru wanted a HM

It was a good day, lots and lots of BBQ, Beer
And hopefully a few more Heatermeters will soon be made

Awesome John! Sounds like you were prepared for any sort of network or power problem, and looks like it paid off.

I don't really go out an evangelize for the project, but when you guys take a HeaterMeter somewhere and wow people it really makes me proud.

As well it should. It makes me look like an (evil) genius & all I did was put it together.
