WeberQ grates salvageable?

Just got a Q320 and it was super dirty, worse than the one in the dirtiest Q thread. But everything works. Did an initial clean up only thing is the grates have some rust. Wondering if I can clean it off and season or if they need to be replaced. I will also need this info when I reassemble my genesis. Here are some pics. Thanks in advance.

Would u replace if you are gonna flip the grill? I understand long term it would be better but can they be salvaged (seasoned ) for short term or flip?

Well, here is the thing. You're gonna sell the grill. Buyer brings home their new treasure and starts crunching down on bits of porcelain in their burgers. Honestly if it were me I either would not "flip" it or accept the loss as part of business

Rob,
First, welcome to TVWBB!

I have to say I am with Larry (@LMichaels) on this one. These are truly great grills, but the grate is the weak link. They need to be babied and well cared for. The one you got wasn't, which is pretty much typical. What you might put up with for your own use is one thing, but I agree with Larry that you don't need someone coming back at you complaining about ingested porcelain.

The truth is that, pretty much, these are not ideal grills for flipping. People want a cheap deal on used Qs. That wouldn't stop me from buying for myself and taking advantage of a great deal for my own "keeper." However, by the time you clean, replace grates (and likely igniters and possibly burners) and then maybe even have to repaint, there's usually not much room for any profit as a flip grill.

The grate on Amazon Larry posted is a nice one. Qlimetal also makes a nice one for about the same price. I have purchased this one once and thought it looked good for a grill I gave as a gift. Not long enough ago to report on longevity:
