I thought of posting this to the news and announcement section but this is where I've only posted for years. Apparently Weber (the company) was bought by an investment firm as per link below.
"Upon completion of the transaction, Weber will become a privately held company majority owned by investment funds managed by BDT" Stock went up 24%.
I wonder what this will mean for the quality of the grills. My money is that it will continue to go down, a trend in all manufactured things from toasters to cars as companies tend to make more money when you buy a replacement, as opposed to fixing it and using it for life. While on the subject, I know folks who told me that they prefer buy a cheap grill, used for a season or two and then throw it away and buy a new one.
