Weber Performer Grill Cover - How are you making it stay on?

I have a genuine Weber cover for my Weber Performer.

It has only one velcro strap on the right rear leg (viewed from the cooking side). It wraps around the leg about 3-4" above the wire shelf.

This strap is useless on windy days. The cover balloons up via the wind and off it goes.

The only thing the single strap does is prevent the cover from taking off and traveling across the yard, possibly lost altogether.

What are you guys/gals doing to keep the cover on?
 
I took my cover off after noticing that dirt gets blown up under the cover and was causing the lid to get scuffed.

These are not my pictures, but here is what to watch for.

For the time being, I am not using the cover.

This week alone I’ve had to put it back on at least 4-5 times so I’m done with it till I figure out a better method to secure it.

I like the first clamp on plastic clamps you posted! I will look for those and some short bungees!

Would be nice if Weber simply recognized that their Performer has 4 legs, not 1, and positioned the velcro strap low enough so that it grabs the shelf to prevent uplift and not the leg which allows it to slide upwards.
 
I was experiencing the same problem, so out of frustration I went down to the fabric store, bought a $5 sewing kit, and a foot of Velcro strap. Went home and looked up a YouTube sewing tutorial. I sewed a strap on the opposite side, and haven’t had any problems since. Took about 15 minutes.

On an unrelated note, none of my underwear have holes in them anymore.

10/10, would recommend.
 
So I went to HF today.

Bought the 4-clamp set and roll of Velcro material. Cut 4 sections around 8-9 inches of the Velcro material. Looped it thru the eyelet, rotated it 1/2 turn as it passed thru the eyelet so the mating sides of the Velcro would grip, pinched it tight around the eyelet, and then installed all 4 clamps. I made one leg of the Velco about 1/2" longer than the other to aid with removal. The clamps are such that they are almost perfectly at the wire grate height. Velco attached to the grate/shelf so zero chance of wind up lift anymore!

The clamps are quite nice! Made in Taiwan.

Big winter storm supposed to come thru tonight so will be a good test!

Wow, the jaws on those grippers are pretty aggressive, aren't they! Looks like you have your problem solved...unless that whole grill blows away! Better put your name and address on it, just in case.

I did tug on them and the grip is firm!

For the test, I did not use the one worthless leg perimeter strap that Weber provides!
