Weber Performer: 1481001 vs. 1421001

Hi guys, first post here so be gentle!

After a few days of research, I was about to pull the trigger on my first charcoal grill, picking the Weber Performer, when I noticed that there are 2 different models for version which has the touch-n-go ignition: 1481001 and 1421001.

Apart from the 1481001 being $20 more expensive and also having a "LCD cook timer", I can't figure out any other differences from Amazon's descriptions. Is the $20 extra just for the removable timer, or are there any other differences?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin I'm fairly certain that other than the digital timer, they are both the same. One is from 2012, the other from 2013. I have a Brick Red one from 2012 and love it. I wouldn't spend the extra cash on the timer personally. Use it to buy something else for the grill. Try craigslist for a used one, especially this time of year. Check local stores too because they may clearance them if a new model is coming out for 2013.
