Does Weber not make the 26.75 kettle thermometer available to purchase as a replacement item? I don't have the larger kettle, but would love to pop one into the top of my new OTS.

You have to call customer service.

Tell them you have the kettle and your therm stopped working.

They wont sell it to you unless you have the grill.

Be prepared with two letter code on top vent.

That's crazy - I'll just buy a decent one off Ebay. I just thought it'd look really cool to put the big kettle therm on the smaller one.

Let me guess - they're trying to help protect the coveted Weber name. Wouldn't want one of those nice Weber therms on a knock-off kettle.

But I do thank you for the info.

On my 22.5" OTG, I modded my lid and added a thermometer and bezel from a 22.5" WSM. I purchased the thermometer and bezel from eBay. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I thought about going that route, and noticed that those are readily available on eBay. Just figured the Kettle therm would go higher up in temps. And temp spikes from a long cook might nuke the WSM them.

But this might work - how does the bezel curvature of the 22 1/2 WSM fit the kettle? Would the 18 1/2 bezel fit better?

It's customer service and replacement parts. Their business model doesn't revolve around, or even include the selling and shipping of thermometers.

I'm sure they don't want their name on crappy grill, but i doubt it's the reason they don't sell their thermometers.

It matched up pretty good. I put it opposite the top vent, and I don't notice a gap between the bezel and kettle. If I had put it lower (more on the side of the lid), there would have been a noticeable gap.

Just do a search for "weber" and "temperature gauge". The seller is named "webercloseoutdeals" (or something similar) - it's who I bought my One Touch ash collector from. Then you can search his store and enter the term "bezel". Relatively easy to find.

You're close, the seller's name is "webercloseouts". Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/weberc...&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
