Water pan for new 18.5 WSM

I saw the video Chris put out on how to foil the water pan. The shape of my new 18.5 WSM required 2 pieces of heavy duty foil. I have also foiled a 14 inch terra cotta saucer and placed it in the water pan. Is there another water pan that I should look for that can replace the one that came with the smoker? I don't want to have to waste using a second piece of foil just to cover the outside of the water pan.

Hi Chuck.
You don't have to foil the bottom of your pan if you don't want to. I believe Chris did it just to keep things neat. The newer pan was made deeper so folks can add more water. Since your using the clay saucer you might be able to order the older pan through Weber CS.

Chuck, I'm using the Brinkmann ECB CHARCOAL PAN with a clay saucer. Here's a link to our host's take on the water/charcoal pan. If you go this route get the charcoal pan.

Lew, thanks for the link and suggestion. I went and ordered one. Does a piece a foil fit properly around the outside or would I still need a second piece to cover up the gaps?
