Wanted to buy rcplanebuyers 13 flavorizer bars.

Also his Z-Metal and Swing/Flip Table custom fab and pre drilled 304 SS hardware is very reasonably priced considering the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship that he puts into his work. I'm very thankful to him and the work that he does. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to use his products on my restorations.Screenshot_20241129_100014_Photos.jpgScreenshot_20241129_100044_Photos.jpgScreenshot_20241129_103931_Photos.jpg

When you are replacing "flavorizer bars" is that because they are missing, corroded, or performance has somehow degraded?

I have been following along on this, as my Wolf BBQ-362-2 has similar "Radiant" (16) shield that sits above the burner (15) as shown in first picture. Mine are smooth like shown but without the vertical lips at the bottom. Mine is an early serial number from what I gather.

In the 2nd picture, later Wolf's apparently got "ventilated" (my words) versions (17) that sit above the burner (16).

Is the sole purpose of these to provide radiant indirect heat and vaporize juices?

Been wondering the same. I too have an early one, and they're starting to "burn" away at the bottoms. I have tried multiple times with Dave Santana for 4 years now and he keeps saying he'd get back to me but never does. I may end up resorting to cutting down long Genesis ones

Josh, remarkable workmanship 👍
I buy RCPlanebuyers flavorizer bars for 2 of my restorations, a fat frame Genesis, a Genesis 5, and 2 Genesis Golds I still have.
My Genesis 1 that I'm in the very early stages of restoring will also get his flavorizer bars.

We should try and meet sometime soon so you don’t need to cut any!

Thanks Mark! Dave's products are an easy choice.

I just asked Dave if you would make grates for my Junior and even though he said not at this time. He said he may be getting closer to sourcing bar to start making grates again soon.

Him and I spoke about 2 weeks ago and he touched on the idea of making the 3/8s cooking grates at some time in the future.
If a person must have good grates and can't get RCPlanebuyes, buy the Qulimetal ones.
