I do not live anywhere close to Des Moines, but i do like looking on Craigslist/Marketplace/etc from time to time in surrounding areas to see great Weber pieces that are for sale.

It's my version of window shopping!

Anyway, saw this wood handled WSM in the wilds of Craigslist that appears very interesting...not for the fact that it's on a performer as i've seen those done before....but the fact that it does look like the top vent may have no code.

Thought it would be worth sharing....

Looks like a Jumbo Joe without legs and a WSM with legs. Weird. Taking steel wool to a corroded vent often reveals a hidden date code.

Top vent looks weird, those tabs are flat, usually they bend or break off with use, and at that age it might be a replacement vent.
But it still has a rusty rivet so I dunno.:)

That old WSM came from here in KC. I was the agent for it, picked it up, and held onto it
until the current owner could make it down here about a month later to pick it up. I looked
at the vent REALLY close and could not see anything, but I did not scrub on it. (Wasn't mine)
I was and still am, of the opinion that the may have been a replacement. They generally do
not have a date code.
