After read and participating in several wood discussions here, I have obtained trimmings from a peach orchard and looked forward to getting some pecan and oak.
I knew a pecan tree was next to my inlaws and there was oak nearby.
It was my youngest son who suggested gloves for sawing up the pieces (with a hand saw). Mine were back in Charlotte. Long story short my middle son gashed his thumb-it was deep if only an inch long and required a trip to the ER for three stiches.
So $200 and five hours later we have wood that still needed to be cut to size.
Please wear leather gloves if you are sawing wood....
