Vent retainer screw

Not sure which vent you are talking about but on a regular kettle, the top and bottom vents are usually riveted in place. If you need to remove it, you can replace it with a 1/4 x 20 screw. I would use stainless steel. I think weber sells a replacemt vent and it shows a 5'8" long screw, flat washer and a cap nut.
Why are you replacing it? Is the vent loose?

Are you talking about hte "One Touch" on the bottom? If so, I have some more tips for you.

use ss hardware. yep, i use 1/4 stuff. to lock in a nut, just hammer on the bolt threads a bit. it will jam the nut enough to move but hold its position.
 
AJ S, are you sure it shows a 5'8" long screw, that is 68 inches long, way to long, maybe 5/8" screw.
