i'm in Va beach, but there are not many good BBQ joints in the beach. Malbon Brothers on general booth blvd is just OK. it's located in a citgo gas station.
if you want to venture out to chesapeake you can try Wood Chicks. they just opened a 2nd location and they have good que. they just had a throwdown with bobby flay that will air in june. i bet they beat his "BUTT"
i used to work at frankie's in high school. i used to think they were good ribs until i started making my own. frankie's boils then direct grills theirs over gas.

Blech! Sorry for recommending them then. Was just one I ran across online. There are also some smokey bones joint's up there. Yeah it's a chain. I remember the food as not being too bad but that was before I started making my own.
We have a Smokey Bones up here in NH. Not bad probably one of the better chain BBQ places I have tried. Of course no where near as good as Blue Ribbon BBQ in Newton MA. Almost as good as homemade.
Went to Woodchicks..I was a little let down myself but the guys I went with were happy. Pulled pork was average at best, and the brisket was dry, and average. I did buy a thing ot trim tabbs pork dust or something like that which I look forward to trying when I get back home.
Tony...after going to their website, I expected a lot more than that! The staff was great, and all that though. As they always say, the best bbq is the backyard one, which is what I mostly do.
There used to be a great wing joint called Lendy's at the corner of General Booth Blvd & Dam Neck road. Not sure if it is still there.
It's not BBQ but it is good......Chris
Chris...funny..last time I was out here was 1996...and I remembered Lendys...it is still there, but I have not been yet this trip..I do remember that I ordered really hot wings in 96..like the hottest I ever had.
