Two holes in the bottom of the middle section?

I've got two center sections and both have tiny holes in the very bottom part that fits into the charcoal bowl section. They've been drilled opposite of each other and have no apparent use.Does anyone know what there for- just curious? Weber customer service didn't have a clue. /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Might be a place to hang them for the porcelain enamel spraying and baking process.
